Voln for Dummies(tm) How to Join Voln

So you want to become a member of the fine Order of Voln?  There are two Chapters of Voln and each have a different set of tasks to complete.  However, you can take your steps at either Monestary, as long as the Monk hasn't assigned you a task.  

Joining in Wehnimer's Landing: You must be at least three trainings and receive an invitation from a Master of the Order.  This can be accomplished in two ways.  The easiest way is to go to the Voln Courtyard and ask if someone would kindly invite you to join the Order.  The other option is to follow the Grizzled Warrior around the Landing until he tells you a story about dying and being upon Lorminstra's Altar.

In order to reach the Voln Monastery, from outside the north gate, travel: SW, S, S, S, S, S, SE, E, E, Go Bridge, E, NE, N, N, Go Trail, E, E, E. It is polite to put the things in your hands away when you are in the Courtyard, so free up your hands.

Once invited, you will need to enter the Spring at the Voln Courtyard.  You need to stay in the spring until you feel cleansed of your worldly pollutions.  Don't worry, it will be evident when this occurs.  You will then exit the spring and walk through the gate.  The guard will happily let you through.  Go east, then south and have a seat.  Follow what the Grandmaster tells you, and you will become a member of the Order.

Joining in Ta'Vaalor: You must be at least three trainings and receive an invitation from a Master of the Order.  You will need to receive your invitation directly from a player who is a Master of the Order.  There is no NPC option in Ta'Vaalor.

In order to reach the Voln Monastery, from the inside of the Amaranth Gate, travel: go gate, nw, nw, go bridge, nw, nw, n, nw, n, nw, search, go crevasse, n, n, nw, nw, n, n, nw, n, nw, e, go path, n. You will need to enter the stream and stay until you feel cleasned of your worldly pollutions.  Once clean, exit the stream by standing, and go across the bridge.  Go inner portcullis, n, go doors, e, go door and have a seat.  Follow what the Grandmaster tells you, and you will become a member of the order.  

To get to the Path of Enlightenment from the Inner Portcullis, travel n, go gateway.

To get to the Master's Hall from the Inner Portcullis, travel n, go doors, go archway.

To get to the Meditation Chamber from the Inner Portcullis, travel n, go doors, n, e.

Voln for Dummies(tm) Voln Fu MB Formula

Throw MB:

Brawling Skill * 20/17 (rounded) + Perception Skill/20 + Agility Bonus/2 + Dexterity Bonus/2 + Strength Bonus/5. Thanks to Apryll (I've verified this is correct.).

Kick and Punch MB:

Same, but + Voln Step (against undead). Also thanks to Apryll.

Spell/Skill affects to MB:

Some spells with an AS bonus adds 1 to MB for every +5 AS (Paladin, MjE, MnE are exempt, 205, 211, 215 add to it.).
Most any spell with an AS negative subtracts 1 to MB for every 5 points (102, 106, Darkness)
Symbol of Courage adds +5 to MB.
Mobility (618): +20 to MB (Special Affect)
Combat Manuever Training allegedly adds +1 MB per 10 ranks (Untested).
Worn Armor: -(Action Pentalty + 1) to MB [Example: Brig is -13 AP. +1 = -12 to MB]

Other Factors:

Encumberance will reduce one's MB as well..
